Two reasons to be nice with the bad guy?
May 8, 2008
According to the mysterious MDC -from Foreign Policy Watch- here are two reasons the United States can't rely on a policy of regime change in North Korea (for now):1) The United States simply can't do it: only China would have enough leverage to push the Korean regime into complete state failure.
2) Were Washington to find a way of doing so, it would likely loose support from North Korea's neighbours (in particular its Southern "other") who would be "tasked with picking up the pieces" (MDC).
